    Seeing Blue Everywhere

Deej is finally done working on the baby’s room, it took him maybe a month. If I haven’t been stopping him to buy stuff that I find expensive, he would have completed this project earlier. I’m obviously the “economical” (the fancy word for cheap) one between the two of us. Haha. I like how it turned out, it’s not too much and not too ordinary either. Deej really has a knack for decorating our house – thanks to his Houzz app! LOL. The baby won’t exactly be sleeping in this room, though. He’ll be close and cozy with mommy. :) Since we’re having a boy, naturally, most of the baby’s…

    My Baby Shower in Bacolod

This weekend was extra special because I spent it in Bacolod with friends who insisted I come home so they can throw me a baby shower. It started when two of my close friends bumped into each other at the mall two weeks ago. They then messaged me and got me to confirm I’ll be coming home this weekend so they can organize a baby shower for me. I laughed at the silly thought at first, but they were serious, it turns out. So I thought, why the heck not? I packed my overnight bag, with mama in tow, and off we went on a 2-day/1-night trip to my hometown.…

    The Calm Before the Storm

It’s all coral and some teal for me ever since I decided on the color motif for our wedding which explains the quick theme update on this blog patterned after our wedding site. According to the countdown tool on the site, we have exactly 178 days until our wedding day and every time I glimpsed this countdown my mind goes, “Omg we only have XXX days to prepare!!!” But all is well… I think. Deej and I have been zen and relaxed ever since we finalized the wedding venue/date and booked the time-critical suppliers (thanks to bridal fairs we were able to take advantage of special packages and discounts!). Whenever…

    Happy Birthday, D!

Happy birthday to my best friend, this blog’s #1 (lurking) fan, my daily source of news about the Philippines and around the globe, my fashion/career/business adviser, my coffee and movie buddy, the one who makes me laugh (and cry) the hardest, the one who fixes everything I damage (phones, computers, TV, remote control, html/php codes, fixtures, appliances, etc etc etc), the one who cleans and arranges my condo, the one who tolerates my clumsiness (getting the car battery drained or scratching it, spilling my coffee, dropping my phone/external hard drive every once in a while), the one who listens to my endless stories about novels I’ve read and TV series/movies…

    Light Reads

The good thing about having an e-book reader is whenever you hear/read about a book recommendation (in the form of a tweet, a Facebook post, a blog entry, word-of-mouth, or a goodreads reco) you can just download the book and start reading it instantly. Below are three recent novels I finished which are, fortunately, light reads so I was able to just whip out my Kindle anywhere (while waiting for the train/taxi, waiting for my movie download to finish, or while I’m on lunch break hanging out at a coffee shop) and resume my reading. *** Every Day by David Levithan This is a fantasy story about a soul named…

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

The Perks of Being a Wallflower was the first novel I read on my Kindle. And last night, I got to watch the film adaptation and loved every second of it! I’m happy about how the movie turned out because it is very faithful to the book (save for some parts which I think they should have also highlighted, such as the sister’s pregnancy and the father’s affection). But I think I like the movie more because of the perfect way Logan Lerman portrayed the character of Charlie. He’s just as endearing and naive as in the book it’s impossible to not love him! The story of Perks is about…
